Beef Bolognese

Serves 4


500 grams of lean beef mince
1 onion chopped
250 grams of mushrooms
Teaspoon of oregano, rosemary, thyme and garlic
1 400 gram can of chopped tomatoes
Above can filled with water
Tablespoon of no salt tomato paste
Salt and Pepper


Brown your onions in a pan with no oil, onions, garlic and herbs – add a splash of water if they are sticking, brown for 3 minutes and then put in the mince and the mushrooms and keep moving in the pan until the meat is mostly brown and then add the remaining ingredients. Leave it on a really low heat for a good 3 hours, with the lid partially on and let it simmer down to a rich, unctuous bolognese. Serve with some wilted spinach.
